Why do you like being part of the Medelia Monitor community of women?

I like to think of myself as a consultant for Medelia Monitor because that is actually what panel members are doing. It is a valuable role, guiding corporate decisions to deliver goods and services that meet the needs of real consumers. I enjoy surveys and especially appreciate how well Medelia members are treated – as important partners in the process and in the business. Medelia is head and shoulders above others in the field, in refreshing contrast to obvious poor regard shown by some companies for their panelists.

What are your passions?

I am enjoying life to the fullest and am passionate about my family (a daughter, grandson and sisters), church, pets (cats Bandit and Midnight really own me) and am a news junkie. For actual travel my daughter and I are planning a cruise later this year and travel is another passion.

Tell us about your work and personal life..

In my former (pre-retirement) life, I was a long-time consumer protection regulator in a local government agency. With an austere budget and political wind shift, the office was closed, followed by a move into early retirement – a situation that was an opportunity disguised as a hardship. After trying a variety of volunteer (and non-volunteer) activities in retirement, I remain active as a consumer representative on my state's collection agency licensing board and am a director on the board of a national credit education foundation.
